meek
/mēk/
adjective
quiet, gentle, and easily imposed on; submissive.
I think being described as meek is often seen as a weakness. This may be due to one of the defining words being “submissive.” Even though being submissive is mostly considered negative, there are instances where submitting will lead to growth and success. I believe being meek means submitting to life’s lessons and growing from them. That sounds like a strength, right? You do not have to keep making the same mistakes before you make the needed changes.
It has taken me years to look at meek that way. It has become one of my favorite words since it is a part of my name (Shamek(meek)a) . So I thought it would be fitting to re-name my blog Meek Life. It encompasses who I am and aspire to be. It also captures my goal of wanting to live a meek life. On this blog, I will be sharing my physical, mental, and spiritual journey to overall wellness and a meek life. I am so excited to share the lessons I have learned with you, and I hope that you will leave embracing the act of submitting to life’s lessons and living a meek and well life.
You can look forward to blog posts (Meek Life Mondays & Wellness Wednesdays), music playlists, and much more. Also, follow me on social media at @_meeklife on Instagram and Twitter to get exclusive content.
